Seniors Independence Support

Supporting older adults (generally 65+) who want to remain safe, independent, and connected in their own homes and neighbourhoods.

Seniors Independence Support

Helping Seniors Live Independently, Safely, and Connected At No Cost to Them

At Everyday Independence, we believe every senior deserves the dignity of living independently in their own home, regardless of financial circumstance. As a registered charity, we rely on the generosity of donors and volunteers to provide essential support services that help older adults in our community stay safe, self-sufficient, and socially connected. Together, we can ensure no senior faces the challenges of aging alone.

Essential Errands & Daily Living Support

Shopping assistance, essential errands, accompaniment/navigation and other approved practical supports for seniors whose frailty, mobility limitations or other conditions associated with aging make everyday tasks difficult.

Safe Home & Seasonal Support
Basic practical tasks intended to help eligible clients maintain safe access to their homes, such as light seasonal exterior assistance.

That distinction matters. CRA specifically recognizes shopping assistance, daily-living assistance and specialized services for seniors affected by frailty, mobility limitations or difficulty performing everyday tasks. It also says simply being over a certain age is not enough; the service should relieve an actual condition attributable to aging.

Safe Home & Yard Support

Every senior deserves to live in a home that is safe and well-maintained. Many older adults, particularly those on fixed incomes, cannot afford necessary repairs or yard upkeep. Our program connects volunteers and community resources to address home safety concerns free of charge.

✔ Home safety assessments & hazard identification
✔ Minor home repairs & maintenance
✔ Seasonal yard work & lawn care
✔ Accessibility modifications for mobility support

This work is only possible because of caring donors and hands-on volunteers.

Social Connection & Community Participation

Isolation is one of the greatest challenges facing seniors today. Our community programs are built to combat loneliness through companionship, social outings, and meaningful connection—because independence should never mean isolation.

✔ Friendly visitor & companionship program
✔ Transportation to community events & outings
✔ Group activities & social programming
✔ Family updates & communication support

Every visit and outing is made possible through community generosity.
