Everyday Independence Support

Sometimes the hardest part of the day isn’t a major crisis it’s the small, practical tasks that have quietly become too difficult to manage alone.

Everyday Independence Support is our core assistance program, designed for eligible Calgarians who can live independently but face everyday barriers due to age, disability, limited mobility, recovery from illness or surgery, financial hardship, or limited family and community support.

We provide practical, non-medical help with the routine responsibilities that keep daily life running smoothly.

How We Can Help

Depending on your needs and our available capacity, support may include:

  • Grocery and essential-item pickup and delivery
  • Prescription pickup where appropriate and permitted
  • Basic community errands
  • Help organizing everyday household needs
  • Assistance identifying and accessing community resources, government benefits, and local programs
  • Practical support with routine day-to-day tasks that have become difficult to complete safely

What This Program Is Not

Everyday Independence Support is not healthcare, personal care, or home-care. We do not provide medical services, nursing, bathing, dressing, client transfers, or inside-the-home cleaning. Our role is to fill the practical gaps between full independence and formal professional care.

Our Goal

We are not trying to do everything for you. Our goal is to reduce everyday barriers so you can continue doing as much as possible on your own safely, independently, and with dignity. A little help can make a big difference.

Who Is Eligible

This program is intended for Calgary residents who:

  • Are seniors, persons with disabilities, or individuals experiencing illness, injury, or temporary physical limitations
  • Face practical barriers to managing everyday tasks independently
  • Have limited access to family, friends, or other community support

Priority is based on need, safety, urgency, and available organizational capacity. Submitting a request does not guarantee service, but we review every request carefully and, where possible, will connect you with another organization if we are unable to help directly.
